Property Liens
If payments are 60 days past due, we will send a Pre-Lien Notice, providing you with the option to make a minimum payment by a set due date to avoid a lien being placed on your property.
For tenants/renters, an additional certified fee will be charged to your account as we send these notices via certified mail to property owners as well.
Once a lien has been placed on a property, they must be addressed and paid with the Lake County Treasurer’s office:

They will send you a bill each month and provide Merrillville Conservancy District with your meter readings.
We will then send you a bill every other month and include two month’s usage in each bill. To better help with a smooth transfer of service, please fill out and submit the form.
